There are lots of opportunities at these events for people to see you face to face. Sometimes they lay eyes on you and decide that you would be perfect for a role that have coming up. You’ll never meet the right people if you don’t get out there and mingle.
This literally happens all the time and it just happened for a friend of mine who is a personal trainer. He looked the part and was literally approached for a lead role.
He had no acting experience, no head shots, and no agent. Now he’s booked to collaborate with the filmmaker again on another project.
Join Backstage for Netflix Auditions
Backstage is an online platform that lists everything from movie gigs to castings for commercials. The best part is that Backstage REGULARLY works with big production companies like Netflix and post auditions all the time.
Sign up with Backstage and you will have access to a large variety of projects, auditions and casting calls. Many are open casting calls and anyone can apply.

Find Out If Anyone You Know Works There
Ask around in your circle of friends if anyone got an internship or even an entry level job at Netflix. This is very possible if you live in New York or LA. If you’re interested in acting, chances are you have a friend who knows a friend that is also in the entertainment business.
Use your personal connections to get as close as you can to a casting director or producer.

Stalk Their Producers on LinkedIn
If you have a profile on LinkedIn you should check your connections for anyone connected to Netflix producers or casting directors. You can reach out to them if you know about a specific project. Let them know you’re interested in auditioning.
Connect with Netflix producers on LinkedIn and post your acting clips if you have them. If not, post youtube clips. Issa Rae started out on YouTube with her own show. Now she has many deals with streaming services for movies.
